Texas Road House is known for its delicious fall desserts and this one is sure to hit the spot!
This is an easy, easy, fall dessert to make.
Ingredients: For the Cake: 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons cornstarch 1/4 cup white sugar 1 cup flour 1/8 teaspoon baking soda 2 cups butter, softened 2 cups milk 1/3 cup sour cream For the Filling: 1 cup cream cheese, softened 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1/5 cup cream, cubed 1/6 cup milk 1 cup powdered sugar Directions: Preheat oven to 350°F.
In a medium bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cornstarchs, sugar, flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
Beat the butter, cream cheese and milk with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
Add the sour cream and stir until combined.
In the bowl of an electric stand mixer, cream the butter mixture until smooth.
Add in the sour and milk mixture and beat until well blended.
Add to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
Pour batter into prepared cake pan and bake for 15 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack and cut into squares.
Frost with lemon curd, cream, and powdered sugar.
Notes: You can replace the cream cheese with your favorite brand if you prefer.
Make sure the cream is well blended, otherwise, it will be too thin.
You can add some cream cheese if you want.
Recipe Notes: If you have leftover sour cream from your cream cheese mixture, use that instead.
If you don’t have any sour cream, then you can use the sour mixture.
If it’s a frozen recipe, then the souring will happen after you fill your cake pans.
This makes a very filling and filling delicious.
